257 patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) participated in the study in Yaroslavl region. The main epidemiological indices (incidence and prevalence of MS) for the last 25 years were determined. The evaluation of environment pollution has been realized in different districts of the city according to the level of snow covering pollution. Farther in snow-test contents of 38 chemical elements found in industrial waste were determined and summary index of pollution of environment were calculated. Significant direct correlation is revealed between level of environment pollution and increasing of epidemiological characteristics of MS.
257名多发性硬化症（MS）患者参与了在雅罗斯拉夫尔地区进行的研究。确定了过去25年的主要流行病学指标（MS的发病率和患病率）。根据积雪污染程度，对该市不同区域的环境污染进行了评估。此外，还测定了工业废料中发现的38种化学元素的雪样含量，并计算了环境污染的综合指数。结果显示，环境污染水平与MS流行病学特征的增加之间存在显著的直接相关性。
