Positioner is one type of removable appliances made of elastic material. This material, which is a kind of high polymer and has recoverable ability, may be as a new type of orthodontic material used not only in orthodontic treatment of various kind of malocclusions but also in retention in later stage of treatment. It is not same to the stainless steel wire of traditional removable appliances which must be activated every time to produce a little tooth movement. The advantages of positioner are to reduce the visit frequency and to shorten the duration of treatment. According to our clinical experiences, the indications are: simple individual malocclusion; treatment and retention in later stage of various kind of malocclusions; and patients who couldn't come to clinic regularly.
定位器是一种由弹性材料制成的可摘矫治器。这种材料是一种具有可恢复能力的高分子聚合物，可作为一种新型正畸材料，不仅用于各类错牙合畸形的正畸治疗，还可用于治疗后期的保持。它与传统可摘矫治器的不锈钢丝不同，传统可摘矫治器每次都必须加力才能产生一点牙齿移动。定位器的优点是减少复诊次数和缩短治疗时间。根据我们的临床经验，其适应证为：简单的个别牙错牙合；各类错牙合畸形治疗后期的治疗和保持；以及不能定期来诊所就诊的患者。
