Abstract

HVA and 5-HIAA levels have been assayed in the rat brain at different time intervals after acute or chronic i.p. administration of tetrahydropapaveroline (THP), 8 and 60 mg/kg. In addition, the influence of THP pretreatment on the L-dopa-induced HVA increase in the rat brain as well as the PCPA-induced 5-HIAA decrease have been studied. The results support the possibility that THP may displace brain monoamines in vivo. This property of THP may be related to certain side effects of L-dopa long-term therapy in parkinsonism.

在大鼠腹腔注射8毫克/千克和60毫克/千克的四氢罂粟碱(THP)急性或慢性给药后的不同时间间隔,已对大鼠脑内的高香草酸(HVA)和5-羟吲哚乙酸(5-HIAA)水平进行了测定。此外,还研究了THP预处理对左旋多巴诱导的大鼠脑内HVA增加以及对氯苯丙氨酸(PCPA)诱导的5-HIAA减少的影响。结果支持THP可能在体内置换脑单胺的可能性。THP的这一特性可能与帕金森病中左旋多巴长期治疗的某些副作用有关。
