After a summary of the theoretic basis for the indication of an operative reduction of the tongue by the therapy of malocclusion, the results of the tests were individually analysed. A sure influence of the reduction of the tongue can only be proved for the averting of a threatening relapse after an operation of progenia. The ability of speech stayed without any influence in 12 cases and in 3 cases it got better or worse. The numerous late sequels in form and function of the tongue make it necessary to be carefully in indication of the reduction of the tongue by the therapy of malocclusion.
在总结了通过错颌畸形治疗进行舌部手术复位的理论基础后，对测试结果进行了个体分析。仅在预防性手术后避免威胁性复发方面，才能证明舌部复位有确切影响。12例患者的言语能力未受任何影响，3例患者的言语能力有所改善或变差。舌部在形态和功能方面的众多晚期后遗症使得在通过错颌畸形治疗进行舌部复位时必须谨慎把握适应症。
