[Pancreaticopleural fistula].

We describe the case of a patient with a subdiaphragmatic collection and massive pleural effusion due to a pancreatico-pleural fistula. The fistulous tract was secondary to the extension of an intraabdominal pseudocyst through the diaphragmatic hiatus into the mediastinum, where it perforated into the right pleural cavity. Spontaneous closure of the fistula occurred after a three-week treatment with somatostatin.
