[Ultrasound diagnostics of the spine].

A short delineation of contemporary ultrasound applications, its possibilities and limitations in diagnostics of the spine and related structures is presented. Ultrasound has an established position in diagnosing fetal spinal defects and dysraphic syndromes especially in children. It is also an important method of intraoperative imaging. Ultrasound can be used in diagnosing sciatica and in identification of pathological spondylosis cisterns.
