A condition is described in which there is congenital ectasia of the veins in the lower extremities, in the tibia as well as in the soft tissues of the leg. The most striking symptom is bone pain, and the soft tissues are involved only to a limited degree. The condition has therefore been called "congenital diaphyseal venous dysplasia".
