Traumatic spinal neuropathy is a condition which results as a loss of the feedback response from the insensate spine. Clinically a severe kyphotic deformity and gross instability is apparent. Radiographically, severe joint destruction with a "ball and socket" pseudarthrosis is seen. An infectious process must be excluded and surgical stabiliation has an excellent prognosis.
