The author makes an overview of the characteristics of the ERT (estrogen replacement therapy) with Oestrogel (Laboratoires Besins-International). The latter is a hydro-alcoholic gel, containing 0.06% 17 beta estradiol for transdermal application. The specific characteristics of this type of estrogene replacement are discussed as well as some of its advantages over the rest products.
