Four part fractures of the proximal humerus represent approximately 5% of all proximal humeral fractures. Treatment options for these displaced fractures include nonoperative treatment, open reduction and internal fixation, and arthroplasty. Presently, there is a lack of consensus on the optimal management strategy for this complex injury.
To determine the effect of alternate devices in the management of four part proximal humerus fractures in patients on the risks of reoperation, need for implant removal at 1 year, and pain.
