The availability of many etiological hypothesis for Alzheimer's disease raise the possibility of treatments aiming at slowing down disease progression. Clinical trial designs and relevant outcomes are available to test these hypothesis. A preventive approach based on individual risk assessment may be possible, which will increase the number of consultations for neurologists in the near future.
