Abstract

STUDY OBJECTIVE

To measure the efficacy of transcervical hysteroscopic fibroid resection (TCRM) among the authors' patients.

STUDY DESIGN

In one department, 73 transcervical hysteroscopic fibroid resections were performed on 68 patients over a 6-year period. Using a computerized database and mailed questionnaires, 58 patients were followed up.

RESULTS

Thirty-six of the 58 patients showed no symptoms after the procedure; in 15 cases subsequent fibroid was detected, while in seven cases other types of complaints occurred, not related to the myoma. During the procedures complications happened in four cases; one perforation and three bleeding episodes occurred.
