The solitary shortening of radius or ulna gives rise to malalignment of the wrist or elbow. Shortening of the ulna causes dislocation of the head of radius, shortening of the radius leads to a clubhand with disorders of the wrist. The disphyseal lengthening osteotomy of the radius or ulna corrects these deformities.
