Radio frequency fistulotomy--novel modification of the conventional technique in low anal fistula.

A novel technique of radio frequency surgery for day care treatment of fistula-in-ano was used on 232 patients over 3 years. This method as compared with the classical fistulectomy is rapid with minimal blood loss and good healing. Return to work was in 3 - 5 days and recurrence rate was 1.5%.
