[Deficiencies in the rendering of medical care to the wounded in the prehospital period: the pathologicoanatomical aspects].

The article analyses the losses in Afghanistan during the whole 10-year period of war, making classification by years, number and character of autopsies which were performed by specialists of the pathologicoanatomic laboratory in 1980-1988. Errors in pre-hospital care resulted in 10% of all fatal cases. The quota of the first aid defects was 10.6% of all pre-hospital errors. On the basis of the analysis of the problems in medical care the author makes some conclusions which are valuable not only for war period, but also for peace-time.
