Abstract
UBHT was ahead of the 98 per cent A&E target, but shut a ward to save money and fell far short when winter pressures bit. Its two-star rating is under threat. The trust has had some success in clawing back its forecast deficit, down from pounds sterling 3.5m in December to pounds sterling 1m. UBHT is also undergoing a major structural reorganisation that will put clinicians in the driving seat.
