Abstract
This chapter describes the relationship between adolescent contraceptive use and pregnancy, factors that influence the relationship, and strategies to improving decision making and contraceptive use. Contraceptive choices, with specific recommendations for the adolescent client, are outlined. The role of the nurse is described, and specific suggestions are given to help in counseling the teen-age client.
