Abstract

Plastic filling materials of the Noracryl 100 and Evicrol type were used on twenty extracted teeth as adhesives for direct bonding. The two plastic materials did not differ in fatigue and tear-off test results.--The values of tensile strength were many times those of therapeutically effective orthodontic forces. Using replicas and scanning electron micrographs of the enamel surface, it was possible to show that, after bracket removal and polishing, residues of Noracryl are more easily removable than those of Evicrol.--Initial clinical tests allowed these results to be verified.
