Position of the American Dietetic Association: affordable and accessible health care services.

The American Dietetic Association supports the availability of a standard package of basic, comprehensive health services for all. The definition and evaluation of appropriate care and the linkage of care to patient outcomes are viewed as significant steps in enhancing the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the health care system. The Association is actively collaborating with others to enhance the ability of the health care system to direct limited health care resources to interventions of known effectiveness.
