Traumatic knee injuries.

This article addresses the history and physical examination of traumatic knee injuries. The history should include differentiation between contact and non-contact sports. An audible pop usually implies anterior cruciate ligament rupture. The examination should include a thorough physical examination, especially the Lachman's test and the pivot shift sign. Ligamentous and cartilaginous injuries and their treatment are outlined.
