Rheology and strokes.

Further evidence is presented that rheological abnormalities antedate stroke and are not just a consequence of stroke. Whether these abnormalities should be corrected in the acute phase after stroke is still uncertain. Until more data are available haemodilution is not to be recommended in most cases of acute stroke.
