Nestin is one of intermedial filaments exprimed in proliferating progenitor cells of the CNS and PNS (central and peripheral nervous system). Postnatal reexpression of the protein occures mainly in CNS tumors and correlates with a high grade of malignancy. The aim of our study is assessment of the nestin expression in benign and malignant skin melanocytic lesions with respect to presume a prognostic role of this protein. We examined 127 bioptic specimens, including 42 nodular melanomas (NM), 32 superficial spreading melanomas (SSM), 10 dysplastic nevi and 43 common intradermal or dermoepidermal nevi. We proved significant increase in nestin expression in melanoma groups, especially in nodular melanomas, where nestin was localized mainly in the peripheral, invasive areas of the tumor mass.
Detection of nestin expression might be used as an additional melanocytic tumour marker.
巢蛋白是一种在中枢神经系统和外周神经系统(CNS和PNS)增殖祖细胞中表达的中间丝。该蛋白在出生后的重新表达主要发生在中枢神经系统肿瘤中,且与高恶性程度相关。我们研究的目的是评估巢蛋白在良性和恶性皮肤黑素细胞病变中的表达情况,以推测该蛋白的预后作用。我们检查了127个活检标本,包括42个结节性黑色素瘤(NM)、32个浅表扩散性黑色素瘤(SSM)、10个发育异常痣和43个常见的皮内或真皮表皮痣。我们证实黑色素瘤组中巢蛋白表达显著增加,尤其是在结节性黑色素瘤中,巢蛋白主要定位于肿瘤块的外周浸润区域。
巢蛋白表达的检测可作为一种额外的黑素细胞肿瘤标志物。
