Abstract
Unlike other industries where workplace violence is a deviation from the norm, healthcare caters to, and cares for, the very individuals who are most prone to aggressive and assaultive behavior. The fundamental prerequisite for any healthcare organization that seeks to deal effectively and safely with assaultive behavior is the adoption by all potential responders of a team approach.
