[The causes for the occurrence of external biliary fistulae and their treatment].

Causes of the appearance and results of operative treatment of external bile fistulas in 38 patients after surgical interventions on bile ducts are analyzed. It was established that the main cause of the external bile fistulas were biliary hypertension resulting from an unrecognized and noncorrected during operation pathology of the choledochus. A complex of surgical treatment should be individual. It must include different methods of draining the bile ducts (external and internal) and endoscopic operations.
