To explore the diagnosis and treatment for the congenital branchial cleft cysts and sinuses.
We analyzed the clinical material of 40 patients with branchial cleft cysts and sinuses, and explored the diagnosis and therapeutic experience. Twelve cases were first branchial cleft cysts and sinuses, 23 cases were second branchial cleft cysts and sinuses and 5 cases were third branchial cleft cysts and sinuses.
All patients were cured by surgical resection. Followed up from 1 to 5 years, 36 cases were cured, 2 cases were lost touch with, 2 cases recurred and were well treated again.
Surgical resection was the main method to treat the congenital branchial cleft cysts.
