[The use of computers in hematologic cytologic studies].

The review is concerned with the use of computers in studies of hematopoietic cells. It includes a wide range of methods and instruments from a simple reading of measurements in automatic cell analyzers to the design of expert systems and mathematical simulation of cellular physiology. Some examples illustrate a clinical use of data of karyotype, cell kinetics studies, computer morphometry, cytophotometric and morphometric evaluation of cytochemical reactions for diagnosis and prognosis.
