To analyze the polymerase gamma(Polg) gene polymorphisms in Chinese idiopathic infertile males and evaluate the correlation of the polymorphisms with male infertility.
We conducted a study of Polg CAG repeats in the sperm or blood DNA of 55 asthenospermia patients, 57 oligospermia patients, 34 azoospermia patients, and 104 controls with PCR and GeneScan. Phenotypic data were available in all the subjects, including semen parameters, and clinical profiles.
The frequency of 10/not 10 CAG genotype in asthenospermia patients was higher than in the other groups, but with no significance.
Our findings have shown for the first time that there exits an ethnic difference between Chinese and European males in the number of CAG repeats of Polg gene, and that 10/not 10 CAG genotype may affect sperm motility.
分析中国特发性不育男性中聚合酶γ(Polg)基因多态性,并评估这些多态性与男性不育的相关性。
我们采用聚合酶链反应(PCR)和基因扫描技术,对55例弱精子症患者、57例少精子症患者、34例无精子症患者以及104例对照者的精子或血液DNA中的Polg CAG重复序列进行了研究。所有受试者均有包括精液参数和临床资料在内的表型数据。
