Abstract
Treatment resistance has emerged as a significant issue in our era emphasizing biological treatments for psychiatric disorders. This article suggests that some patients who carry trauma from previous generations become treatment resistant because of this burden. Advancing the treatment of these patients often requires openness to the burdens of past generations and attention to unraveling their meaning.
