[Coagulation properties of the thrombocytes in macro-focal myocardial infarct].

Platelet coagulative and fibrinolytic activities were studied in 37 patients with large myocardial infarction. Plasma samples rich for platelets (with the standard platelet level) and with low platelet counts were analyzed. A lowered coagulative activity of the platelets was revealed in such patients, parallelled by loss of these cells' ability to enhance fibrinolysis. These shifts are particularly marked in the first days of the illness.
