[Surgery of the thyroid nodule. Current treatment].

The concept of "thyroid nodule" is the presence in the gland of a neoformation with an enough diameter in order to be palpable. From a clinical point of view, the problem relies in establishing its diferential diagnosis with the cancer which prevails between the 10-15% of the cases. We emphasize the diagnostical tests, the different accesses and the surgical treatments with a morbidity that focus the attention of the surgeon. Finally, the author will present its experience.
