[Results of systematic ocular examination of the newborn].

The authors carried out systematic ocular examinations on 150 newborn babies. They emphasize the relative frequency of retinal haemorrhage (8 cases) and draw attention to the pathogenic mechanism of this disorder, the vascular fragility, disorders of coagulation, and injuries caused by intracranial pressure. They found 1 case of toxoplasmic chorioretinitis and 5 cases of refractive disorder.
