Abstract
The medical literature reports between 5 and 17% of all hospitalisations to be due to side effects or interactions of drugs. These effects may be caused by genetic or non-genetic factors. The influence of genes on the pharmacology of drugs has been studied intensively during the last years. However, only one diagnostic test for two of these genes is currently commercially available.
