OBJECTIVE
To assess the efficacy of a 'constriction ring' as an option for treating premature ejaculation (PE).
PATIENTS AND METHODS
Between September 2003 and October 2006, 42 men with an intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT) of <1 min were evaluated. Over a 4-week period, a constriction ring was used during intercourse.
RESULTS
The median (range) IELT was 42 (33-54) s before treatment and 46 (31-55) s after 4 weeks of using the ring; there was no statistically significant difference in the IELT before and after treatment (P = 0.1), and no major complications.
CONCLUSION
The 'constriction ring' is not an effective treatment for PE.
目的
评估“缩窄环”作为治疗早泄（PE）的一种选择的疗效。
患者与方法
在2003年9月至2006年10月期间，对42名阴道内射精潜伏期（IELT）小于1分钟的男性进行了评估。在为期4周的时间里，性交时使用缩窄环。
结果
治疗前IELT的中位数（范围）为42（33 - 54）秒，使用缩窄环4周后为46（31 - 55）秒；治疗前后IELT无统计学显著差异（P = 0.1），且无重大并发症。
结论
“缩窄环”并非治疗PE的有效方法。
