The left vagus was cut in rats on the neck; this was followed by a reduction of the glycogen content in the myocardium and by an increase in the intensity of its metabolism (by the glucose-I-C14 incorporation). Sympathetic denervation of the heart led to the increase in the glycogen level and a fall of the intensity of its metabolism in the cardiac muscle.
