A case of severe hemifacial pain with radiation into the anterior auricular, frontal and temporal areas associated with blurry vision and dizzy spells is presented. The patient's symptoms were temporarily cured by local injection of Xylocaine around the elongated styloid process and were permanently relieved by resection of the abnormally long styloid process. The salient diagnostic and x-ray features of the "symptomatic elongated styloid process" (The Eagle Syndrome) are presented.
