An armed robbery of a visitor in the hospital's parking garage, which fortunately did not cause any physical injuries, resulted in a reevaluation of security response procedures and the related problems that accompany such an event. The article reviews recommendations for responding to an incident that involves firearms, including security deployment, police relations, handling the media, communications with Administration, and dealing with employee panic.
