[Surgical therapy of bronchial carcinoma].

Chest surgery is a fundamental component of the interdisciplinary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for lung cancer. NSCLC is usually treated by surgical resection. The long-term prognosis after chest surgery decidedly depends on the tumour stage. Integration of surgery into a combined therapeutic concept (multimodal, adjuvant or neoadjuvant) improves the therapeutic outcome of advanced cases.
