Rhinoplasty can be performed using both open and closed approaches. A visible scar on the columella is the major disadvantage of open rhinoplasty. Different columellar incision types have been used in open rhinoplasty. In this retrospective study, we compare transverse and inverted-V columellar incisions with a scar assessment scale.
In this retrospective study, open rhinoplasty was performed on 84 patients between 2001 and 2006. The transverse incision was used on 39 patients (18 males, 21 females). The inverted-V incision was used on 45 patients (21 males, 24 females). The entire surgical procedure was performed by a single surgeon. The columellar incision was closed using 6-0 interrupted polypropylene sutures. All sutures were removed on the fifth postoperative day. With this assessment scale, we observed satisfactory scar, pigmentation, and notching.
We compared both groups and found that the inverted-V incision resulted in better scar formation (p < 0.05) and less notching (p < 0.07). Scar pigmentation was found to be irrelevant to the incision technique employed (p < 0.3).
As a result of this study we concluded that the inverted-V incision might be a better choice in open rhinoplasty.
鼻整形术可采用开放式和封闭式两种方法进行。鼻小柱上可见的疤痕是开放式鼻整形术的主要缺点。开放式鼻整形术中使用了不同类型的鼻小柱切口。在这项回顾性研究中，我们用疤痕评估量表比较了横向和倒V形鼻小柱切口。
在这项回顾性研究中，2001年至2006年间对84例患者进行了开放式鼻整形术。39例患者（18例男性，21例女性）采用横向切口。45例患者（21例男性，24例女性）采用倒V形切口。整个手术过程由一名外科医生完成。鼻小柱切口用6-0聚丙烯间断缝线缝合。术后第五天拆除所有缝线。使用该评估量表，我们观察了疤痕、色素沉着和切口切迹情况。
我们比较了两组，发现倒V形切口形成的疤痕更好（p < 0.05），切口切迹更少（p < 0.07）。发现疤痕色素沉着与所采用的切口技术无关（p < 0.3）。
作为这项研究的结果，我们得出结论，在开放式鼻整形术中，倒V形切口可能是更好的选择。
