EACD GDP guidelines.

The recommendations for examination, diagnosis and management of patients with temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain by the general dental practitioner published by the EACD do not provide a step by step guidance for the GDP; a training programme would be needed for that. They provide a general framework under which these conditions should be diagnosed and treated. The evidence base for the advice given is presented. In particular, they advise against some unproven and invasive treatments.
