Abstract
The silhouettes of such Polish famous doctor as Teodor Heryng (1847-1925), Jan Sedziak (1861-1932) and Ludwik Rydygier (1850-1920) are presented first of all. The Heryng's publication "The hypertrophy of tonsils, the conditions of origin and surgical treatment" was a matter of dispute of those doctors. The sharp polemics refered especially postoperating haemmorhages are depicted widely.
