CMS's changes to the recovery audit contractor (RAC) program may not be sufficient to resolve lingering concerns. With the national RAC program looming, providers should be alert to the challenges the program poses and start developing a strategy to address them. Filing appeals to challenge RAC determinations can be a lengthy process, requiring a substantial amount of organization and determination.
