The aim of this study was to assess a level of physical development and nutrition condition of girls being in middle and late stage of sexual development. Body build in relation to maturational age was also assessed in those girls.
Somatometric and questionnaire data of 304 girls aged 13-18 years were collected in community of Końskie. Retrospective method was used to assess menarcheal age.
Majority of examined girls were in normal level of nutrition (82%), but 14% indicated overweight or obesity. Mean menarcheal age accounted for 12.42 +/- 1.03 years. There was no socio-economical differences in menarche among girls.
Present study confirmed differences in body build in girls associated with tempo of sexual maturation.
