Abstract

Effects of sulbactam/cefoperazone (SBT/CPZ) on the host-parasite relationship were studied using an established mouse macrophage cell line. Since SBT inactivates some types of beta-lactamase strongly, a combination of SBT with CPZ shows marked antibacterial activities against the bacteria producing beta-lactamases. In addition, sub-MIC levels of SBT/CPZ made Escherichia coli more susceptible to bactericidal activity of macrophage. This study provides evidence that SBT/CPZ works in partnership with host defense mechanism against bacterial infections in clinical situations.

使用已建立的小鼠巨噬细胞系研究了舒巴坦/头孢哌酮(SBT/CPZ)对宿主-寄生虫关系的影响。由于SBT能强力灭活某些类型的β-内酰胺酶,SBT与CPZ联合使用对产生β-内酰胺酶的细菌显示出显著的抗菌活性。此外,SBT/CPZ的亚抑菌浓度水平使大肠杆菌对巨噬细胞的杀菌活性更敏感。本研究提供了证据,表明在临床情况下SBT/CPZ与宿主防御机制协同对抗细菌感染。
