Abstract

Responsiveness of rat adrenal slices to ACTH was studied by measuring pregnenolone formation from endogenous cholesterol. The yield of pregnenolone by adrenal slices of hypophysectomized for 48 hrs rats was markedly higher as compared to intact animals.
