Abstract
Retrospective bias in expert evidence can have many ramifications for the practitioners involved and less directly for patients. The individual doctor's self-worth can be diminished and timely improvement in the delivery of patient can be delayed or prevented completely. This article explores why retrospective bias occurs and what can be done to minimise its impact.
