Current Imaging (C.T. Scanning) is the most important recent development for maxillo-facial trauma. Bony structures are demonstrated in two or three directions and the ensuing treatment adapted according. Other interesting points in maxillo-facial surgery are the use of many different types of bone plates. The most controversial problem is represented by biomaterials.
