Paratrichodina Lom, 1963 comprises more than ten species. Paratrichodina has been found so far in various freshwater, marine fishes and amphibians worldwide. This report provides the first record of Paratrichodina from freshwater fishes in China. Smears with trichodinids were air-dried and then the slides with trichodinid ciliates were impregnated with Klein dry silver impregnation technique in order to reveal details of the adhesive disc. All measurements are presented in micrometres and follow the system proposed by Lom. Detailed descriptions of the denticles are presented in accordance with the method proposed by Van As and Basson. Denticulate ring of the studied specimens is constituted by loosely arranged denticles and the adoral ciliary spiral is between 180 to 200 degrees. So the studied specimens were assigned to Paratrichodina. The presently described trichodinid resembles P. erectispina Lom et Haldar, 1977 and P. voikarensis Kashkovsky et Lom, 1979, but it is clearly distinguished from P. erectispina by the shape of denticle and some other measurements. Based on its unique characteristics, a new Paratrichodina species is erected, and named Paratrichodina yangtzeus sp. n.
副车轮虫属(Paratrichodina Lom,1963)包含十多个物种。到目前为止,在世界各地的各种淡水鱼、海水鱼和两栖动物中都发现了副车轮虫属。本报告首次记录了中国淡水鱼中的副车轮虫属。含有车轮虫的涂片经空气干燥,然后用Klein干式银浸染技术对含有车轮虫纤毛虫的载玻片进行浸染,以揭示附着盘的细节。所有测量值均以微米为单位,并遵循Lom提出的系统。按照Van As和Basson提出的方法对齿体进行了详细描述。所研究标本的齿环由排列松散的齿体组成,口前纤毛螺旋为180至200度。因此,所研究的标本被归入副车轮虫属。目前描述的这种车轮虫与1977年的直立副车轮虫(Paratrichodina erectispina Lom et Haldar)和1979年的沃伊卡尔副车轮虫(Paratrichodina voikarensis Kashkovsky et Lom)相似,但在齿体形状和其他一些测量方面与直立副车轮虫明显不同。基于其独特特征,建立了一个新的副车轮虫物种,并命名为长江副车轮虫(Paratrichodina yangtzeus sp. n.)
