Usually the cells are cultured in serum-supplemented media. Since serum is a highly complex, largely undefined fluid, it is difficult to study the interactions of mitogens and cells in a carefully controlled fashion. Serum-free culture methods must be important for escape the complexity of classical serum-containing culture methods. In this short note, I tried to introduce the theoretical field of serum-free culture, mainly emphasizing the importance of growth factors.
通常细胞在添加血清的培养基中培养。由于血清是一种高度复杂、成分大多不明确的液体,很难以精确可控的方式研究有丝分裂原与细胞之间的相互作用。无血清培养方法对于摆脱传统含血清培养方法的复杂性至关重要。在本短文里,我试图介绍无血清培养的理论领域,主要强调生长因子的重要性。
