A quaternary tin(IV) antimony(III) sulfide decorated by lanthanum(III) ethylenediamine complexes, namely, La(en)(4)SbSnS(5) x 0.5 H(2)O (1; en = ethylenediamine), has been solvothermally synthesized and structurally, thermally, and optically characterized. Its structure features an isolated hexanuclear molecule of La(en)(4)SbSnS(5). The intermolecule hydrogen-bond interactions result in a three-dimensional supramolecular network, which remains intact upon dehydration.
