Abstract
Hypereosinophilic syndromes are a group of disorders characterized by persistent and marked hypereosinophilia not due to an underlying disease known to cause eosinophil expansion, and which is directly implicated in damage or dysfunction of at least one target organ or tissue. In this perspective article, Dr. Roufosse provides an updated classification of these disorders and discusses the recent advances in this field, including fascinating pathogenic mechanisms and novel targeted therapeutic approaches.
